🔩 Dental implants
A dental implant is the closest thing to a natural tooth for replacing a missing one: a small titanium root placed in the jawbone, topped with a fixed crown that matches the shape and shade of your teeth.

Who are dental implants for?
- One or more missing teeth, or a full arch (with a fixed implant-supported bridge).
- Enough jawbone — if bone is lacking it can often be rebuilt with grafting.
- Good general health; well-controlled diabetes is not a barrier, while smoking lowers the success rate.
The implant process
- Examination and planning: clinical exam and X-rays (sometimes a 3D CBCT scan) to measure the bone.
- Implant placement: under local anaesthesia the implant is placed in the bone.
- Healing (osseointegration): the bone fuses with the implant over 2–4 months.
- Restoration: an abutment is fitted, then the final crown (zirconia or porcelain).
Does implant surgery hurt?
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so you feel pressure but not pain. Mild pain and swelling for two to three days afterwards is usually managed with ordinary painkillers and cold compresses.
Aftercare
- Cold compresses for the first 24 hours and soft, cool food for the first two days.
- Avoid smoking and vigorous rinsing in the first days.
- Clean the implant exactly like a natural tooth, with check-ups every 6 months.

Frequently asked questions
How long do dental implants last?
The implant itself is designed to last many years — often a lifetime with good care; the crown on top may need replacing after some years.
Can I get a tooth on the same day as the implant?
In selected cases (excellent bone and high primary stability) immediate loading with a temporary crown is possible. Your dentist decides after the examination.
What is the difference between an implant and a bridge?
A bridge requires reducing the neighbouring teeth, whereas an implant replaces the tooth on its own without touching healthy teeth, and helps preserve the bone.
Can I pay for implants in instalments?
Yes, we offer payment and instalment plans — ask about them at your consultation.
