Before whitening
We examine your teeth and gums first, treat any decay and remove tartar, because whitening does not change the colour of fillings or crowns.
The session
- Cleaning the tooth surfaces and protecting the gums with a special barrier.
- Applying the whitening gel in stages.
- Assessing the shade and giving aftercare instructions.
After whitening
- Avoid coffee, tea, coloured drinks and smoking for at least 48 hours.
- Temporary sensitivity is normal and settles within a day or two.

Frequently asked questions
Does whitening damage teeth?
Whitening under dental supervision at the right concentration is safe for enamel; problems usually come from unregulated products or overuse.
How long does whitening last?
Roughly 6 months to 2 years depending on habits (coffee, smoking) and care.
Does whitening lighten crowns and fillings?
No — it only affects natural teeth, which is why any crowns are planned after whitening.
