When does it show and how long does it last?

It starts within 3–5 days, is complete within two weeks and lasts 3–4 months. Try the units calculator to see the typical range for your area.

Before the session

• Tell your doctor about pregnancy or breastfeeding and any nerve conditions or medicines.
• Avoid non-essential blood thinners for two days beforehand (after checking with your doctor).

After the session

• Don't rub the area the same day.
• Don't lie down for 4 hours, and avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
